after completing his diploma certificate in audio engineering at university of music düsseldorf and university of applied sciences düsseldorf, andré zacher concentrated on freelance work for documentary and feature film productions.
since 2001 he has worked in over 80 productions both as a production sound mixer on set and as a sound designer and re-recording mixer in sound postproduction.
the two very different spaces hardly overlap, and yet they are highly dependent on each other for the sound track of a movie. the diversion between shooting on set and studio postproduction work is particularly appealing to zacher, but also the connection of the two worlds - regarding both storyline impact and technical workflow.
andré zacher was nominated for the german film award in 2017 for his work on johannes naber’s feature film „heart of stone“ (production sound mixer & supervising sound editor).
